Now dual premiership coach Des Hasler lauded his team’s culture and drive as the Sea Eagles defeated the enigmatic Warriors in a thrilling NRL Grand Final at ANZ Stadium.

One of the highlights of the 2010 NRL season was the inaugural All Stars match. The NRL Indigenous All Stars v NRL All Stars match is a celebration of the game’s best athlete’s and the commitment to the wider community. The event is a centrepiece of Rugby League’s commitment to Indigenous Australia and an event that promotes harmony across all cultures.

Fans are once again asked to take the selectors chair and choose both teams, and what a challenge it is in season 2011. As both teams have a full list of superstars to select from, the 20-man Indigenous All Stars is likely to include the likes of Greg Inglis, Jonathon Thurston, Scott Prince, Nathan Merritt and Sam Thaiday… The Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match will again take place at the Gold Coast’s Skilled Park on Saturday, February 12.

The award caps off a stunning return to the NRL for Carney, who spent the 2009 season rebuilding his life and his career playing district football in the North Queensland town of Atherton.

Carney was also voted the fans’ player of the year with more than 15,000 fans voting throughout the season on NRL.com to declare him the Provan-Summons Medal winner for 2010.
