South Sydney Rabbitohs are the most successful professional team in the history of the NRL in terms of total championships won, having claimed 20 first grade premierships.
Souths won 11 of the first 25 first-grade Premierships contested between 1908-32 (plus 11 reserve grade and four third grade titles) to be uncontested as the dominant club of Rugby League’s first quarter of a century. They also won the inaugural Premiership, against Easts at the Royal Agricultural Ground (Sydney Showground) in August 1908 to secure the first of 20 first grade titles – which still stands as a record today!
To celebrate the Premiership History of the Souths, SE Products in conjunction with the NRL are proud to bring you the Souths Premiership History in time for Christmas.

Parramatta’s Jarryd Hayne produced perhaps the most brilliant run of form ever seen in the Telstra Premiership to claim the 2009 Dally M Player of the Year Medal.
In six weeks of wreaking havoc with opposition defences, Hayne picked up three points in every match from Round 19 to Round 24 to overtake two-time Dally M Player of the Year – and the man who had led the competition by five votes when judging went silent after Round 16 – Johnathan Thurston.
A single point in Round 25 gave Hayne, already the Dally M Fullback of the Year, an unassailable lead. To commemorate this extraordinary season, we have the great pleasure in bringing to you Number One, the personally signed commemorative lithograph of Jarryd Hayne.
Your Number One is:
• Personally Signed by Jarryd Hayne
• Highlights an authentic replica of the 2009 Dally M Medal
• Inclusive of images and statistics to highlight Jarryd’s outstanding season
• Strictly limited to 200 only
• Officially licensed and endorsed by the NRL
• RRP $595

2008 MANLY PREMIERSHIP TROPHY
At the end of every season, after all the battles have been fought, one team holds aloft the NRL Telstra Premiership Trophy and lays claim to its place in Rugby League folklore. In season 2008, that was the Manly Sea Eagles.
The Sea Eagles wiped the Melbourne Storm of the field in the 2nd half with a scintillating performance of Rugby League, scoring 40 points to 0 in a match which broke the record for points difference between the winning and losing teams in a Grand Final. Michael Robertson became the first player in 11 years to score a hat-trick of tries in a grand final and prop-forward Brent Kite won the 2008 Clive Churchill Medal for the Man of the Match.
The replica premiership ceramic trophy is encased in a beautiful wooden presentation box. This is the perfect memento to remember the Manly Sea Eagles 2008 emphatic premiership victory.

Call them superlatives, but they appropriately describe Danny Buderus. The greatest Knights player behind the legendary Andrew Johns, Buderus’s achievements are inspirational – particularly considering the injuries he had to carry for the past three years of his Australian career. Indeed, his regular roommate Johns says he has seen no braver footballer.
Buderus, originally a halfback/five-eighth become a hooker of the grandest scale. He won a premiership with the Knights in 2001, the Dally M Medal in 2004 and holds the NSW State of Origin records for the most successive games, 21 (2002-08) and the most as captain with 15 (2004-08).
The tough-tackling and strong running Buderus has a list of on-field achievements as long as his arm, but it is his sincere, easy-going nature off the field that greatly enhanced his stature as one of the most popular and respected players in the 100 years of the game.

‘A Centenary of Greats’ is a celebration of Rugby League’s 100 Greatest players – a tribute to the legends whose talents, vision and inspiration defined the game’s first 100 years. Chosen by a select group of former players, coaches, administrators and historians on behalf of the Australian Rugby League and the Centenary of Rugby League Committee, the ‘100 Greatest’ are, literally, the best of the best.
The list is headed by Australia’s first Rugby League superstar, Herbert ‘Dally’ Messenger, and the seven players recognised as the game’s ‘Immortals’ – Clive Churchill, John Raper, Reg Gasnier, Bob Fulton, Graeme Langlands, Wally Lewis and Arthur Beetson.
Included are 39 Test and World Cup captains, 27 Premiership captains, the game’s highest point scorers, champions from the city and the bush, men who captured the imaginations of countless fans over the first century of League in this country. Those whose most prominent years were served in England – Albert Rosenfeld, Vic Hey, Arthur Clues, Brian Bevan and Harry Bath – have also been recognised.
Only one 2008 NRL player, Brisbane and Australian captain Darren Lockyer, made the list, emphasising his status as today’s premier player. The selection process was designed to give appropriate weighting to all eras of the game’s first century. The 36 Hall of Fame inductees were automatic selections, meaning the selectors were left with 64 places to fill. Of those, 23 were selected from the period 1908-45 and 41 from 1946-2007 making a final count of 38 players from 1908-45 (38 seasons) and 62 from 1946-2007 (62 seasons).
The task of the judges in equating players they had seen live, or on footage in the video era, and those they had only read about was monumental. After all, no one has watched every player over the last 100 years. However, the list includes players who were, without question, champions of their respective eras.
Australia has provided Test jerseys to 749 players in its first 100 seasons of Rugby League. About 1700 players were outstanding enough to have represented New South Wales or Queensland. To be chosen as one of just 100 from those many great players is a prestigious honour in the game’s Centenary year.
